Tree giveaway planned

To help eventually fill in some of the holes in the tree canopy created by the demise of hundreds of thousands of ash trees in Allegheny County over the last five years, 1,000 free native trees will be distributed by Tree Pittsburgh and the Arbor Day Foundation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the North Park Ice Rink.
