Public officials calling for removing law enforcement from schools at panel tonight in Pittsburgh
According to a 2014 report from the U.S. Department of Education for Civil Rights , students of color are disproportionately more likely to be referred to law enforcement and be subject to school-related arrests. This is why a group of local, state and national policy-makers is calling for law enforcement to be removed from public school campuses, instead replaced by additional counselors and social workers.
