Local cocker spaniel advances at Westminster dog show competition

A cocker spaniel from Peters has cleared the first hurdle in his quest to win Best in Show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Grand Champion Silverhall Strike Force won in the breed ring late Tuesday morning and at 8 p.m. will compete live, on FS1 (Fox Sports 1), in the Sporting Group competition. If he wins there, he will be one of seven dogs competing for top dog honors at the New York city show.
