Despite Pushback, Pittsburgh COVID-19 Relief Funding Spending Plan Passes Preliminary Vote

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A preliminary vote has passed Pittsburgh’s spending plan for $335 million in COVID-19 relief funds, despite local groups and activists saying councilmembers didn’t get enough public input before making the decision.
City councilmembers want to use the funding from the American Rescue Plan to address the needs of communities, city revenue shortfalls and to resume projects halted during the pandemic, among other things.
