Columbia Sportswear awarded $3M in patent infringement lawsuit

Columbia Sportswear Co. was awarded more than $3 million last week in a patent infringement lawsuit against a San Diego snow gear company.A federal district court in San Diego ruled that Seirus Innovation Accessories had infringed on one of three patents related to Columbia's Omni-Heat Reflective Technology in Seirus' HeatWave products, which include a variety of different types of gloves.The amount awarded represents the total profit Seirus earned from its HeatWave products.
