Effort to create early warning system for financially troubled schools put on hold til 2015

A proposed "early warning" system that would identify schools with financial problems early and prevent them from going into to deficit did not make it through the lame duck session Friday Dec. 19, when major focus was put on legislation for a ballot iniative to fix state roads.The package of so-called "early warning" senate bills is expected to be reintroduced in the next session, said Oakland School officials.
