Winter storm hits NYC region

A winter storm warning including heavy snow is in effect for parts of New York, Long Island and New Jersey until 7 p.m. Thursday. New York City and parts of Long Island could get 4 to 6 inches of snow; some parts of long Island could get more. Westchester, Rockland, and the rest of the Hudson Valley will probably get 2 to 4 inches, with some communities closer to New York City getting up to 6 inches. In New Jersey, accumulations of 2 to 9 inches are possible, depending on location.
