Si Se Puede! at BAM

On Friday evening, BAM Cinematek kicks off a new weeklong film series, Si Se Puede!, featuring the work of Chicano and Chicana filmmakers like Luis Valdez (La Bamba), Gregory Nava (El Norte), and Lourdes Portillo (The Devil Never Sleeps). The movies showcased chronicle the unique struggles and cultural experiences of the Latinx community, which were largely ignored or misrepresented in film until these trailblazing directors emerged. The series begins on Friday at 7pm with a screening of Valdez&
