Rep. Michael Grimm pleads guilty

Rep. Michael Grimm, Republican of New York City, plead guilty to a federal tax evasion charge on Tuesday instead of going to trial next month. Prior to the hearing in Brooklyn, lawyers for Grimm and federal prosecutors had declined to comment on the hearing. He faces 2-3 years in prison.  Two people familiar with the case said Monday that the politician would plead guilty to a single count of aiding in the filing of a false tax return.
