Rent freeze approved for rent-stabilized apartments

The New York City Rent Guidelines Board did something Monday it has never done in almost half a century: approved a rent freeze. In a 7-to-2 vote, the board voted a 0 percent increase on one-year leases for about 1 million rent-stabilized apartments in the city. It approved a 2-percent hike on two-year leases.
