Raises, bonuses in new contract with NYC school custodians
New York City public school custodians and building engineers have a new labor contract. The International Union of Operating Engineers and the city reached a $207.2 million agreement on Monday. The terms calls for the 2,000 workers to received 18 percent raises and bonuses of $1,000.The tentative contract is retroactive to 2007. It also calls for about $41.1 million in health-care savings.
