NYPD to spend $4.5 million on more stun guns

In an effort to give officers more nonlethal alternatives when dealing with criminals, the New York Police Department is expanding its arsenal of stun guns. The New York Post reports there are currently 700 Tasers in use by the department and another 1,000 in inventory.
