NYC air quality and strokes
New York City air quality is under review by researchers at New York University Langone Medical Center. The NYU study links air pollution to a dangerous narrowing of the neck arteries that occurs prior to strokes. Some New Yorkers are not surprised at the findings that high pollution levels here may increase health problems. Dr. Cathleen London has looked at the research and thinks more study needs to be done before a definitive link connects air quality to increased risk of stroke.
