Man injured jumping from train at Penn Station

A man who tried to jump from a moving train as it left Penn Station in Manhattan remains hospitalized in stable condition. The incident Thursday at about 3:20 p.m. severely disrupted service on the Long Island Rail Rail for thousands of rush hour commuters. The man, reportedly a panhandler, suffered a broken ankle when he landed on the subway tracks as the eastbound train was pulling out.
