Late Fridays on Governors Island

Even if you’re leaving town this weekend (lucky you!), you may want to consider sticking around an extra night to catch the sunset on NYC’s best island. Starting Memorial Day weekend,  Governors Island will be open till 10pm on Friday nights through September 14, so you don’t have to race to get there or back. Ditch work, board a ferry (which only leaves from Lower Manhattan on Fridays, 7:30pm is the last one there, and 10pm is the last one back), get drinks at Oyster
