GRAVESEND: Child struck by car in Gravesend

Police say the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu hit the girl on Avenue U and McDonald Avenue at 5:30 pm. Authorities said the driver stayed on the scene.

There were conflicting reports of how the incident occurred.

A spokesman for the police department said the girl darted into the road
