The Department of Transportation and state Sen. Roxanne Persaud (D–Canarsie) are hosting Bike Bonanza — a free helmet fitting and give-away event — at Canarsie Pier on July 15.
Helmets are available for youngsters of all ages, but cyclists must come get fitted in person before taking one home. Adults over 18-years-old will have to sign a waiver if receiving their own helm
