Crown Heights’ historic Eastern Parkway Library set for $36M renovation and expansion

A century-old Crown Heights library is set for a major transformation, with city officials breaking ground this week on a $36 million renovation and expansion of the Eastern Parkway Library.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Paul A. Ochoa and Brooklyn Public Library President and CEO Linda E. Johnson on Thursday announced the start of the project, which will expand the branch’s public space by more than 50% while preserving its historic architecture.
