Copper cable theft leads to A,C line service disruptions

Nearly 500 feet of copper cable was stolen from A line subway tracks in Queens snarling the morning commute and leading to anticipated disruptions for the evening rush. The cable was reported missing at about 11:22 p.m. Tuesday near Howard Beach when a northbound A train lost power north of the Howard Beach station. 12 spots along the line were cut where the copper was removed.
