Copper cable theft leads to A, C line service disruptions
Nearly 500 feet of copper cable was stolen from A line subway tracks in Queens snarling the morning commute and leading to anticipated delays for the evening rush. The cable was reported missing Tuesday when a northbound A train lost power north of the Howard Beach station. 12 spots along the line were cut. Service will be suspended after the evening rush to allow for emergency repairs. Shuttle buses will run in place of trains, said MTA officials.
