Cop surrenders to face charges in deadly shooting
An NYPD officer who shot and killed an unarmed man inside a pitch-black stairwell of a housing project in Brooklyn surrendered to police on Wednesday to face criminal charges. Officer Peter Liang walked into the police station with his attorney. A grand jury indicted the rookie officer a day earlier in connection with the Nov. 20, 2014, death of Akai Gurley, 28, at the Pink Houses in East New York.
