Can Eric Garner protests impact retail sales?

Since the Eric Garner grand jury decision came down last week we've seen protests across New York and the country. Last weekend, some of those protesters moved into Macy's Herald Square and the Apple Store. Their hope was to disrupt corporate America and draw attention to racial injustice by hitting retailers where it hurts: sales. But are they having an impact?
