Brooklyn grand jury to hear Akai Gurley case

The Brooklyn district attorney has pledged to bring the case of the killing of Akai Gurley before a grand jury. A rookie police officer shot and killed Gurley in a darkened stairwell inside the Louis Pink Houses in Brooklyn on Nov. 20, 2014. The NYPD said Gurley was unarmed and doing nothing wrong and that the officer, Peter Liang, claims the shooting was accidental.
