Albany to extend rent regulations 5 days

State lawmakers plan to extend New York City's now-lapsed rent regulations for five days to buy time for negotiators to strike a deal on a longer-term renewal. Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Leader John Flanagan announced the proposed short-term extension Thursday night.
