Activist swims Gowanus Canal on Earth Day

While some people planted trees and recycled garbage on Earth Day, Christopher Swain swam part of the Gowanus Canal, notorious for its polluted water. The clean water advocate, originally from New York City, said he did it to highlight the condition of the Brooklyn canal and to push to clean it up once and for all.
