Major service changes coming to 1, 2, 3 trains starting this weekend so MTA can update aging switches

The MTA warned 1, 2, and 3 train riders on Tuesday of service changes it is making beginning this weekend in order to replace switches on the 7th Avenue subway line in Lower Manhattan.Straphangers on all three lines, in addition to the 5 line, should prepare for the weekend switchups starting on July 24 and running through Aug. 24, the agency said.
