Whipping winds drop power lines, trees around Albany area

High wind gusts have caused sporadic power outages around the Capital Region on Monday.As of 2:15 p.m., National Grid reported 43,000 customers across the state without power, including 5,600 in Albany County, another 3,200 in Rensselaer County, more than 2,000 in Saratoga County and more than 1,000 in Schenectady County.
