Troy council gives first approval to Monument Square land transfer

TROY – The City Council gave its first round of approval Mayor Patrick Madden’s plan to turn control of the 1 Monument Square site to the mayoral-appointed Troy Local Development Corp. in a 4-1 bi-partisan vote Thursday night.The move is considered necessary by the Madden administration to make the fifth attempt to redevelop the former City Hall location a success. The previous four attempts since 2011 when City Hall was razed clear the site all failed.At its monthly Finance Committe
