Tri-City ValleyCats surviving in independent league

Tri-City was averaging 2,721 fans in 38 home dates through Friday at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. While that's an increase from their 2,393 average a year ago, it's still far below the 4,000 mark the ValleyCats reached in 11 of their final 12 seasons as an Astros' farm team.
