State drops charges against Kaloyeros

ALBANY — The state attorney general's office is dropping its corruption case against Dr. Alain Kaloyeros less than two weeks after he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for federal bid-rigging crimes.Kaloyeros, the former president of SUNY Polytechnic Institute, was charged in 2016 by then-state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman with three felony counts for allegedly steering development contracts to the Albany-based Columbia Development Corp.
