Schenectady police investigating Sunday knife assault at Union Inn

SCHENECTADY — Police are investigating a knife assault early Sunday morning at the Union Inn.Police responded to a report of an assault at the Union Street pub at 2:40 a.m. A 24-year-old woman suffered lacerations on her face and one on her neck, police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey McCutcheon said.The victim was transported to Ellis Hospital, where she is being treated for her injuries. A detective spoke to her once in the middle of the night and again during the day, McCutcheon said.
