Queensbury Kmart closing will cost 60 jobs

Sixty people lose their jobs beginning March 26 when the Kmart store at 49 Dix Avenue Extension closes, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing with the state Department of Labor. The closing, previously reported, is part of a nationwide effort by Sears Holdings, which operates Kmart and Sears department stores, to cut costs as it seeks to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
