Public authorities could face crackdown

ALBANY - State regulators could soon have a new means of ensuring local authorities and economic development agencies comply with financial disclosure requirements.Legislation is being advanced by state lawmakers to give the state Authorities Budget Office the power to suspend a public authorities board and executive officer if they're more than three years late filing required reports.
