Photos: Snowy owl perches in Malta

Joyce Bassett's patience finally paid off. She got her owl.Bassett, a photographer and Times Union news editor, has been trying for weeks to capture an image of a snowy owl she knew to be in the area. She finally found him Wednesday night tucked behind some tall grass. She watched him for more than an hour Thursday morning as he perched on a fence and surveyed the terrain.
