New sheriff makes Montgomery County's first DWI arrest of year

TOWN OF MINDEN - Montgomery County's new sheriff made his department's first drunken-driving arrest of the year.Sheriff Jeff Smith arrested a Fort Plain man on the driving while intoxicated charge Friday after spotting a car stopped on the lawn of a home at the intersection of Fisk Hill Road and Garfield Street, according to the sheriff's department.The car did not belong to the homeowner, making Smith suspicious.
