Manufacturing index at lowest point in more than a year

The state's manufacturing sector is decelerating, according to the latest survey of manufacturing executives by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.The January 2019 Empire State Manufacturing Survey also found a decline in optimism among respondents, and new orders slowing their increase from recent months.Shipments, however, continued to rise.
