Malta fight leads to assault charges

A husband and wife from Malta face assault charges after a fight at their home, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office.He allegedly punched her in the eye, prompting her to retaliate by stabbing him in the chest.Deputies charged Frank Bessette, 78, with felony assault. Marian Bessette, 78, was charged with misdemeanor assault.The incident took place Friday at their home on Sunset Gulch.Both were released from custody after arraignments in town court.
