Lives torn apart by abuse

Buoyed by the new Democratic majority in the state Senate, where Republicans had for years blocked passage of the legislation that would expand the statute of limitations for rape and sexual abuse, the advocates and survivors are hopeful this year the Legislature and Gov. Andrew Cuomo will finally make it law.
