Lawmakers want Montgomery County highway named for fallen trooper

ALBANY - A stretch of highway that runs along the State Police barracks in Montgomery County is poised to be renamed for a trooper who was struck and killed there last year.Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, a Rotterdam Democrat, introduced legislation this month that would designate a portion of Route 5S in the town of Glen as the "Sergeant Jeremy J.
VanNostrand Memorial Highway."
