Jury convicts Schenectady drug suspect who chanced second trial
SCHENECTADY - A Schenectady County jury has again convicted Thomas Montford, the Schenectady man who turned down a plea offer that would have set him free, and instead opted for a second trial where he could have faced up to 18 years in prison.Montford, who represented himself at trial, was convicted Friday afternoon of the top count of possession with intent to sell, for which he faces up to 9 years in prison, according to attorney Brian Mercy.Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 25.
