Judge allows NYCLU to join in police disciplinary records suit

SCHENECTADY — A judge conditionally granted the New York Civil Liberties Union the petition to get involved in a lawsuit the police officers' union filed over whether Schenectady can release files that include unfounded and unsubstantiated accusations of officer misconduct.
State Supreme Court Justice Mark Powers said in court Tuesday that the group had put in requests through the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) in July and September for Officer Brian Pommer's disciplinary records.
