DEC, Adirondack groups join to cut number of search-and-rescues

Beginning Presidents' Day Weekend, hikers in the Adirondacks will see state Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers and Adirondack groups on trails trying to reduce the number of search-and-rescue incidents.Forest rangers have seen an increase in backcountry search-and-rescues along with the rising popularity of the Adirondacks, the DEC said.
