Cuomo confidant Percoco spared prison for now

ALBANY - Joseph Percoco, a former top adviser to Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo who was convicted of corruption, will not begin his six-year prison sentence on Friday.A federal appellate court ruled on Friday that Percoco, who was convicted last year on charges he took $320,000 in bribes by exploiting his political muscle, can remain free pending his appeal. A District Court judge had previously ordered Percoco report to prison while his attorneys attempt to reverse the conviction through an appeal.
