Another Troy pol admits using racial slur

TROY – Peggy Kownack, a former City Council candidate, says she left the North Central Little League leadership several years ago after she used a racial slur in a friendly manner and learned that it was not received that way by African-Americans.Peggy Kownack, who is white and ran unsuccessfully on the Working Families Party line in 2015 in the 1st Council District with a slate of Democrats, made her admission during Thursday's public speaking speaking portion of the City Council meeting.
