Albany Catholic Diocese loses in court on 'abortion mandate' argument

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany has lost its court battle to challenge a state regulation that church officials said contained a hidden "mandate" to cover abortions.State Supreme Court Justice Richard McNally cited case law in his decision to dismiss the church's effort to challenge the regulation by the state Department of Financial Services.
