Update: Carson City deputy killed after responding to call; suspect also dead; vigil tonight

A Carson City Sheriff’s deputy was killed early this morning after responding to a domestic disturbance call.At 2:18 a.m., Carson City Sheriff’s deputies responded the 4100 block of Montez Drive for a report of battery with injury. Upon arrival, deputies found an injured woman. Within minutes, a man came out of the residence and opened fire on officers. One deputy was shot and taken to the hospital where he later died.The officer’s name has not been released in order to notify
