Sparks man sentenced for child pornography

Jeffrey Scott Varnum, 48, of Sparks was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in federal prison on Wednesday on child pornography charges.The U.S. Attorney’s office said Varnum is a convicted sex offender who failed to register with the state of Nevada and was caught with hundreds of images and videos of child pornography on his computer.Senior District Judge Howard McKibben also ordered Varnum be placed on lifetime supervision as a sex offender.Varnum was on probation at the time of his arrest for lewdn
