Nevada wages highest since 1996

The average weekly wage in Nevada is at its highest quarterly rate since 1996.Bill Anderson, Chief Economist for the Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation said the statewide average rose to $899 in the fourth quarter of 2014 — an increase of 1.6 percent compared to a year ago.“Wages have continued trending upward with wage growth in each of the past seven quarters,” he said.The highest gains were reported in Esmeralda, which is experiencing a mining boom.
