Nevada to receive $6.7 million in Homeland Security grant

Nevada’s Division of Emergency Management has received $6,734,500 in two federal homeland security grants.A spokesman said the money will fund programs to improve emergency preparedness throughout the state. The money comes through two sources: the Urban Area Security Initiative and the State Homeland Security Program.The UASI grant is for $3 million to enhance regional preparedness by local as well as state security efforts in 26 high-threat, high-density urban areas.The remaining $3,734,
