Nevada to get $1.7M in national JPMorgan Chase settlement

LAS VEGAS — State Attorney General Adam Laxalt says Nevada will get $1.7 million under a nationwide settlement with JPMorgan Chase stemming from debt collection practices. The agreement announced Wednesday involves the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, 47 states and the District of Columbia. It resolves allegations that the bank used illegal tactics to go after delinquent credit card borrowers. JPMorgan is agreeing to refund $50 million to affected consumers and pay $136 million in fines.
